Organisers of an upcoming international basketball event in Singapore say the island-state is a “natural choice” to host the tournament. The FIBA Intercontinental Cup is being held in Asia for the first time, part of a push by the sport’s world body to grow club basketball around the world. Singapore has signed a deal with FIBA to host the competition until 2025.
