Saudi Arabia's $500b mega-city project NEOM seeks to tap Asian expertise

Saudi Arabia’s $500-billion mega-project NEOM — which is being built from the ground up — is tapping Asian expertise from energy to infrastructure. It’s looking to deepen opportunities for innovation in areas such as smart city technology, healthcare and sustainability. The Singapore stop of its global tour was held at the Pasir Panjang Power Station. Located on the Red Sea coast, the goal is to eventually house nine million people in a sprawling area 35 times the size of Singapore. It will include hyper-connected smart cities, ports and enterprise zones.
