Former foreign secretary Jack Straw stressed that Hamas is more than happy to allow the deaths of Palestinians – as it is to massacre Israelis – as long as it is pursuing its ultimate goal which is the annihilation of Israel.
Mr Straw added recent trips from world leaders, including that of Rishi Sunak and Joe Biden, are aimed at providing a sense of calm and and stressing the need for a measured response.
