Accreditation framework launched for company directors to raise competencies

Company directors can soon attend courses in new fields like digital skills and sustainability. It’s part of a framework launched by the Singapore Institute of Directors to set standards in board leadership. The framework lists eight competencies directors need to have, including governance and risk management. Those with more than five years of experience can apply for accreditation, which they can then show to boards looking to appoint directors. Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said this will ultimately help Singapore businesses transform in the face of a more uncertain future.
