Ukraine celebrates Christmas by breaking with Russian traditions

Ukraine is experiencing a cultural shift in how they celebrate Christmas as the nation breaks with Russian traditions.

Ukraine marked this year’s Christmas Day on 25 December instead of celebrating on 7 January with Russia.

It’s the first time Ukraine has celebrated Christmas on 25 December since 1917.

The movie is the latest cultural shift in response to the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

The Ukraine-Russia conflict and Israel-Hamas war have been a key focus in Christmas messages from religious leaders this year.
