Sky News host Caroline Di Russo has praised Queen Margrethe II of Denmark following her announcement that she would be abdicating the throne.
Denmark’s reigning Queen Margrethe announced her abdication after spending more than half a century on the throne and confirmed her eldest son Prince Frederik and his Tasmanian-born wife Princess Mary will become King and Queen in a fortnight.
“Look good on her, good on her for being able to call her own time,” Ms Di Russo told Sky News contributor Gary Hardgrave.
“I actually have a huge amount of respect for that.
“Given some of the allegations that have been going on recently, it’s a very good way to square people into a position that – might encourage them to behave themselves a little more.”
