Section of Plane Blows Out During Alaska Airlines Flight – LIVE Breaking News Coverage

A section of an Alaska Airlines plane blew out during a flight tonight, causing a the plane to make an emergency landing. Get the latest on the Alaska Airlines plane that suffered a blowout of part of the plane in flight in our LIVE breaking news coverage.

The plane that had the door blowout was an Alaska Airlines 737-9 MAX. Multiple experts (e.g. Jon Ostrower & Flight Radar 24) say the part of the plane that blew out was the mid-aft exit door. That door is not active on this particular Alaska Airlines 737-9 MAX plane and is supposed to be plugged shut. Reportedly no one was injured in the incident but several people’s phones flew out of the plane and a child lost his shirt due to the depressurization. The flight took off from Portland, Oregon and reached an altitude of over 16,000 feet before the blowout of the section of the plane, and then it landed back in Portland. In this interactive live stream, host Steve Lookner brings you the latest updates on the Alaska Airlines flight losing part of the side of the plane in a blowout, and he’ll also read your comments and questions on the air!
