SAF Scholarship bond period cut from six to four years for those who study locally

Starting next year, those midway through their undergraduate studies or late in their university courses can still apply for the SAF scholarship. Their tuition fees from the start of their courses will be reimbursed if they are successful. Meanwhile, the bond period will be reduced for those studying locally. It will now be four years, instead of six. Gap-year provision will also be extended to recipients of three other scholarships awarded by the Defence Ministry. Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen announced these changes at a ceremony where he presented Defence Scholarships to 97 recipients.
