President Vladimir Putin said Russia was facing “treachery” as he accused Wagner mercenary group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, a former ally, of an “attempt at an armed mutiny.”
“We will protect our people and our statehood from any threats, including internal betrayal. And what we are facing is betrayal.”
