Hey guys, did you know that the Philippines has a mutual defense treaty with the US? It basically means that if a foreign power kills a Filipino soldier, the US will come to our defense. Pretty cool, right?
President Marcos said that the treaty would “kick into action” if a Filipino soldier is killed because of an attack by another foreign power. So, if China or any other country tries to mess with us, the US will have our backs.
I think this is a really important treaty because it shows that the Philippines and the US are committed to working together to defend our countries. And with all the tension in the South China Sea, it’s good to know that we have a strong ally in the US.
