Israel carried out a military strike on Iran early Friday, that’s according to an unnamed US official, in a potentially dangerous escalation of a fast-widening Middle East conflict that Iranian officials have so far sought to play down. Israel has not commented and Iran has not identified the source of the attack. Meanwhile PM Benjamin Netanyahu is remaining steadfast is his militaries approach to end Hamas, as an invasion into Rafah looms.
Here in the US, the House plans to vote today on the $95 billion aid package for Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, as well as other items, including legislation that could lead to a ban on TikTok in the US. The package is split into 4 separate bills – and there will be votes on each of them. Those bills would then get rolled into a single measure and sent to the Senate, which would likely vote on it next week.
