Last-minute deal possible between South Korea government and doctors on strike, says professor

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on Monday (Apr 1) slammed a “cartel” of medics, saying the government would not back down on plans that have triggered a month-long doctors’ strike. Associate Professor Mi-son Kim from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s department of political science tells CNA’s Asia First that if he shows more openness to talks, public sentiment could shift in his favour, and the government could come to a last-minute deal with doctors.
