Israeli forces are transitioning from clearing operations to holding operations in some areas of the northern Gaza Strip, according to a US-based thinktank.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said Israeli troops in areas like Beit Hanoun and al Shati camp were “beginning to execute tasks analogous to the US military definition of a holding operation”.
Meanwhile, the UN Security Council is expected to vote on a ceasefire today after another delay.
