Interview interrupted by airstrike at Gaza refugee camp

An airstrike can be heard making impact during an interview with a witness from an earlier airstrike on a bakery in a Gaza refugee camp. The Hamas-run government said at least ten people were killed in the bakery airstrike that also destroyed neighbouring houses in the Moghrabi refugee camp in Deir al-Balah. The head of the media office said the bakery had just received flour from the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, known as UNRWA. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military. People gathered near the site of the destroyed building, where a large crater in the ground could be seen. Resident Asad al-Bairoti said Israeli warplanes hit the bakery just after midnight on Wednesday. The bakery was “frequented by thousands of citizens on a daily basis,” he said. A second, separate airstrike hit a house nearby while al-Bairoti was speaking to an Associated Press reporter. (Oct. 25) (AP video: Abdal Kareem Hana)
