Immigrants drove majority of US workforce expansion last year

Data from the US Labor Department in May this year showed it was foreign-born workers who drove the majority of the US labour force expansion last year. 1.8 million immigrants joined the labour market – compared to 1.3 million Americans – accounting for nearly 60 per cent of that growth.
