Concerns about food security if Australia ends live sheep export trade from WA | ABC News

The Australian government is committed to ending the country’s live sheep export trade should it be re-elected, because it says most Australians no longer support it.
But, supporters claim Australian animals help provide vital food security in the Middle East.
It comes as the Department of Agriculture investigates new claims Australian sheep have been found available for sale and slaughter in Oman outside of approved facilities.
Coincidentally, the live export industry has released a survey showing increased confidence in the trade.
Albany-based reporter Mark Bennett has the story.
